Browsing with confidence
Webopolis verifies the identity of the businesses on the platform — company registration number and domain ownership — before they go live, and runs checks to limit impersonation and fraud attempts. Still, no system removes that risk entirely. As on any site you come across on the web, a few simple habits keep browsing safe.
Before entering personal or payment details
- Check that the site address (the URL in your browser bar) really matches the shop you think you are visiting.
- Make sure the site uses HTTPS — the padlock must be present in the address bar.
- Be wary of unusually low prices and offers that seem too good to be true.
If in doubt
- Never share a password or a card security code in response to an unsolicited email or message.
- Search the shop’s name online (reviews, reputation) before a first purchase.
- Prefer a secure payment method — card with 3-D Secure, PayPal — over a direct bank transfer for a first order.
Does a site look suspicious?
Let us know: our team reviews every report quickly and can remove a storefront from the city. Write to [email protected], giving the shop’s name and what raised your suspicion.
Represent a brand being impersonated?
If your name, logo or identity is being used without authorisation on Webopolis, use our dedicated claim form instead of a simple report — it sends us your contact details so we can reply directly.
